Tomatoes (Lycopersicum esculentum) are vegetables and fruits that are classified as annual plants in the form of shrubs and are included in the Solanaceae family. In plant cultivation there are plant pests and diseases (HPT), in addition there are weeds to inhibit growth, weeds can be destroyed by cleaning and installing coconut fiber and rice straw mulch. This study aims to determine the effect of mulch types and the height of stakes on the vegetative growth of tomato plants, and to determine the interaction of mulch types and stake heights on the vegetative growth of tomato plants. The design used in this study was a Complete Randomized Block Design (RAKL), consisting of two factors, namely Mulch Type (M) and Stakes Height (A), each factor consisting of 3 levels, namely: The first factor is mulch (M) consisting of M0: Without Mulch, M1: Rice straw mulch, M2: Coconut fiber mulch. The second factor is the height of the stake (A) consisting of A0: 0 cm Al: 70 cm, A2: 80 cm, A3: 90 cm. Each treatment was repeated 4 times, with 4 plants. So that a total of 266 plants were obtained. Based on the results of the study, the type of mulch did not affect the vegetative phase of tomato plants, the height of the stake affected the vegetative phase of tomatoes, the combination of the type of mulch and the height of the stake did not affect the vegetative phase of tomato plants.
