Abstract

Lettuce (Lactuca savita L) is a vegetable crop that has potential as an export commodity and has good market prospects for cultivation in Indonesia. Based on statistical data, lettuce production in Indonesia in 2017 was 627,611 tons and in 2018 lettuce production decreased by 625,132 tons, in 2019 lettuce production increased by 638,731 tons and in 2020 lettuce production increased by 663,832 tons. Hydroponics is the cultivation of plants that do not use soil as a growing medium, but use water as a growing medium or other media such as gravel, rockwool and others. Meanwhile, lettuce production in Bengkulu province in 2020 was 33,409 tons. AB Mix nutrition is a solution made from chemicals provided through the planting medium, which functions as plant nutrition so that plants can grow well. In a hydroponic cultivation system, nutrition is an important part of plant growth. The aim of this research is to obtain the right AB Mix concentration for the growth and yield of lettuce hydroponically. The research was carried out in Curup, Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province, at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level. This research used the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method which consisted of 4 levels, namely 0 ppm, 500 ppm, 1000 ppm and 1500 ppm. Based on the results of research that has been carried out, the author suggests using an AB Mix concentration of 500 ppm for hydroponic lettuce plants.
